3. Processing activities

3.1. Serving the website

When you access https://diday.org, our web server does not store any personal data. We do not keep access logs and do not place cookies or other local information on your devices.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating an informational website).

3.2. Event map

Our homepage shows a map with upcoming events. To do so, your browser calls the API at https://events.diday.org/api in the background. This sub-site is open source and hosted by our friends at Chaos Computer Club Flensburg e.V. as declared in the imprint. Your IP address is transmitted as a technical necessity, but is not logged or stored permanently. If events have associated pictures, those are loaded directly from external servers (typically the respective event platform) — your IP address is transmitted to those servers. We have no influence over their data processing.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in making upcoming events visible).

4. Transfer of personal data to a third country

Your data is generally processed within the European Union or within the EEA states Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, specifically in Hamburg. If we process your data in a third country, we ensure that the recipients have adequate safeguards in place pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR to guarantee an adequate level of data protection. Possible safeguards include an adequate level of protection determined by the EU Commission (e.g. for the USA, Switzerland, or Canada), EU standard contractual clauses concluded with the recipient, or, in exceptional cases, your consent to the data processing. You can obtain further information from our Data Protection Officer.

5. Data subject rights

You have the following rights regarding the personal data concerning you:

  • Right of access
  • Right to rectification or erasure
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent

6. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection laws. The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI), Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.
